Malaysia has been hit with a series of heavy rains affecting six states in the country last week.

Floodwaters in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka began rising on Saturday, making numerous highways impassable, trapping people overnight in their automobiles and delaying operations at the country's busiest port.

Several parts of the Klang Valley, including the federal capital, have been hit.

As of 6 pm yesterday, the Prime Minister's Department's National Disaster Management Agency stated that about 4,000 individuals had been relocated from their flooded homes in the six states.

The public could get the latest weather information through MetMalaysia’s official website, the ‘myCuaca’ mobile application and the department’s official social media site.
