Pray for Hulu Langat, rescuing are still on-going
HULU LANGAT - Rescue efforts by the Fire and Rescue Department and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force are currently underway for victims trapped at various locations in Hulu Langat.
Among areas severely affected as mentioned on social media are Kampung Sungai Serai, Taman Sri Nanding and the surrounding area.
Astro AWANI's survey at the locations found people began assemble at nearby areas as some family members, relatives and friends were still stranded in their flooded homes.
Four to five boats that have been mobilised since morning for the evacuation process, while four ambulances were also seen ready to ferry victims.
Several elderly victims were seen to being rescued, while others including teenager and children wait for assistance.
A resident, known as Saripah, said she was worried about the condition of her uncle who was still trapped.
"He was trapped since yesterday. I was worried when I called him just now. He said he was cold and hungry but there are no food.
"The water rose to the roof so he was trapped. He is just waiting for people to rescue him," she said.
Astro AWANI crew was not allowed to enter the flooding areas.
It was understood that many are still trapped, while authorities including the police, fire department, Civil Defense Force, Rela and several local agencies were coming up with rescue plans.
Several victims were also seen being transferred into ambulance and rushed to a nearby treatment centre to receive medical treatments. - Awani
