Rt back to 1.0: Hospital admissions, other indicators monitored
PUTRAJAYA - Health Ministry is monitoring hospital admission and other leading indicators following the rise in national infectivity rate or Rt to 1.0 yesterday.
Its minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who said this in a Tweet this morning, also told those who have received their third booster dose appointment to take it.
"National Rt back to 1.0. We are monitoring hospital admissions and other leading indicators.
"If you have been given an appointment for a booster dose, take it," he said in his post.
He added that the elderly, where possible should avoid crowded places.
He urged the public to practice #TRIIS, which stands for Test, Report, Isolate, Inform and Seek.
If one is experiencing symptoms such as coughing and a fever, one is expected to test themselves and report the results to the MySejahtera application immediately. A positive result would require one to self-quarantine or isolate themselves from others and at the same time inform those they have come into contact with as well as the authorities or nearest Covid-19 Assessment Centre. Lastly, seek help if your health starts to deteriorate.
Meanwhile, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah provided a breakdown of Rt according to states in his Twitter post.
Two Wilayah and four states recorded a Rt value of more than 1.0; Putrajaya (1.16), Kuala Lumpur (1.04), Selangor (1.03), Kelantan (1.02), Negeri Sembilan (1.01) and Pahang (1.01).
Other states Rt value are Sabah (0.98), Kedah (0.98), Melaka (0.94), Perlis (0.94), Johor (0.93), Pulau Pinang (0.91), Terengganu (0.90), Perak (0.88) and Sarawak (0.87).
Yesterday, the ministry reported a total of 6,323 new cases, and increase from Wednesday's 6,243 cases.
The reported number of cases is the highest for the past two weeks.
The ministry also reported a total of 49 Covid-19 related deaths including 14 brought in dead (BID) cases yesterday.
